Yadira Rosales
Program Development Specialist

Migrant Head Start Programs, Riverside County Office of Education

Change partner, coach, mentor or simply a great leader. These are just some of the few thoughts we had after learning about the implementation process Yadira created for her agency. To support the transition from ChildPlus Desktop to ChildPlus Online, she began hosting regular check-in meetings.

It all began when Yadira decided to address the feedback she received from her team. Meetings to discuss ChildPlus Online seemed like an additional burden and something new to learn when they were already extremely busy. Instead of pushing forward with forced meetings, Yadira decided to provide check-in sessions with an open invite. This served as a safe space to explore and engage with the new platform in shorter, easily digestible sessions.

During the meetings, staff were allowed to openly discuss issues and develop solutions that would work with the new platform. Some examples included eliminating forms that were no longer needed and using this time to address other systematic issues. This approach to adopting ChildPlus Online helped staff engage with the software, eliminate fear and test out new features.

Yadira’s innovative strategy garnered the support of her team, transformed professional development opportunities into a much more pleasant experience and helped her agency move closer to fully using ChildPlus Online.

Are you using ChildPlus Online? How has the new platform improved your data needs? Tell us all about it!
